The 26th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, which opened on February 23, 1981, discussed and adopted the guidelines for the economic and social development of the USSR for 1981–1985 and the period ending in 1990. The Soviet people mapped out their plans for the future. The USSR has only one source of public wealth—the labour of its people. That’s why the greatest desire of the Ukrainian people is to achieve the best results in their labour for their Motherland.
